Being a freshman in high school one would think my Aspergers son could remember to follow through on a simple command.
Last week I was sent home a 26 pg questioner for IEP testing. Long story short. Testing was to be done before high school in 8 th grade. I signed paperwork last year in middle school. High school found out middle school never tested! So now high school Is in high gear to get it done. The high school has also turned the middle school into the district for not doing testing I had signed for.
We even had a post testing IEP meeting last year. So they just lied to me about the testing! How could it be a post testing meeting if they never did testing?!
Anyway,,
Paper work was sent home to me Wednesday last week. Course I didn't know that till 10:30 pm when son remembered and got out of bed to give me. I contacted counselor and assured her she would get it back Friday. Well my son forgot to give it to her.
Monday comes and goes with him forgetting again! I had a 30 minute talk with him last night about responsibility, and following through on tasks that you are to complete. I also contacted counselor again and suggested she get paperwork from him instead of waiting for him to go to her.
This morning he was focused on our puppy and the fact it is to rain today. So my guess is he will forget paperwork again even though I reminded at drop off at school this morning.
Hope he has a good day! And remembers to turn in paperwork! My guess is he will focus his whole day on if I'm going to pick him up after school. Which I told him I would if its raining.
